Work with us

Our organization focuses on several research and academic teaching projects in archeology and anthropology in different areas (GIS, land excavation, bioarchaeology, underwater survey, conservation, digital illustration and drawing, ...).

All the scientific work generated in our institute is carried out by a team and for this reason the staff that integrates the Sanisera Archaeology Institute is dynamic and is renewed according to the objectives, areas to be covered and methodology applied according to current and future circumstances and needs.

OFFER #1: LAND ARCHAEOLOGIST

JOB CHARACTERISTICS

- It is essential to have either an European passport or dual citizenship.

- 8 hours working day with 30min break (7.00 am - 3.00 pm.)

- Contract duration of 6 months in 2020. From May to October.

- Stay on the island of Menorca (Balearic Islands, Spain)

- Assistance to the direction of the archaeological excavation of the Sanisera site (Menorca, Spain) of the classical Roman period (5th - 7th centuries A.D.).

- Collection of documentation according to the Harris registration methodological system.

- Compilation of basic photographic documentation of excavation and laboratory work.

- Creation of topographical database through Total Station.

- Preparation of planimetry (sections and excavation tiers).

- Inventory and classification of the ceramic material of the Roman period.

- Lecture on excavation theory and methodology.

- Participation in the drafting of the 2020 campaign report.

- Permanent and fluid communication with the direction of the archaeological project.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

- Fluent in English, spoken and written.

- Experience in archaeological projects of the classical period or in places where complex stratigraphy or building structures are documented.

- Previous directions or codirections of monitoring of work control and / or survey and archaeological excavation.

- Knowledge of AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Illustrator or CorelDraw and total topographic station management.

- Advanced knowledge of the history and archeology of Hispania and Roman culture in general.

- Knowledge in the classification of Roman pottery.

- Publication of articles, monographs, PhD, thesis or final MA project

- Participation in seminars, conferences as speaker will be valued.

- Driving license and experience in driving B1 vehicles and / or 9-seater vans.

- It is essential to feel archeology, have a vocation for this discipline and maintain respect for the rest of the team and associated members of the institution.

CONTRACT

- Net monthly payroll of 1500 euros.

- Possibility of staying in the residence of the institution at no extra cost.

- Breakfast, mid-morning meal and lunch are included at no extra cost during the workdays.

JOB CHARACTERISTICS

- Stay on the island of Menorca (Balearic Islands, Spain)

- Assistance to the direction of the archaeological excavation of the Sanisera site (Menorca, Spain) of the classical Roman period (5th - 7th centuries A.D.).

JOB CHARACTERISTICS

- It is essential to have either an European passport or dual citizenship.

- 8 hours working day with 30min break (7.00 am - 3.00 pm.)

- Contract duration of 6 months in 2020. From May to October.

- Stay on the island of Menorca (Balearic Islands, Spain)

- Assistance to the direction of the archaeological excavation of the Sanisera site (Menorca, Spain) of the classical Roman period (5th - 7th centuries A.D.).

- Assistance to the management of underwater exploration of the Sanisera site (Menorca, Spain) with a very long period, from the 3 rd to the 18 th century BC, in which, the Roman period is the best represented in archaeological material.

- Collection of archaeological documentation based on the prospecting system established in the scientific project.

- Compilation of basic photographic documentation of prospecting work.

- Preparation of planimetry in CAD support.

- Lecture on theory and methodology on underwater archeology.

- Participation in the drafting of the 2020 campaign report.

- Permanent and fluid communication with the direction of the archaeological project.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

- Fluent in English, spoken and written.

- Experience in archaeological projects of the classical period or in places where complex stratigraphy or building structures are documented.
- Previous directions or codirections of monitoring of work control and / or prospecting and archaeological excavation.

- Knowledge of AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Illustrator or CorelDraw and total topographic station management.

- International diving license up to 18 meters deep (Open Water).

- Other diving specializations will be valued.

- Recreational navigation license for boats of 5 meters in length or more will be valued.

- Publication of articles, monographs, PhD, thesis or final MA project

- Participation in seminars, conferences as speaker will be valued.

- Driving license and experience in driving B1 vehicles and / or 9-seater vans.
