Aída Muñoz Gallego (Cartagena, Murcia. Spain, 1982)
Osteoarchaeologist and Forensic Anthropologist with a significant experience investigating, analyzing and excavating archaeological artifacts and human remains, taking a methodical approach and implementing and monitoring the necessary measures to ensure each excavation complies with international, national and local legislation.
Specialized in Physical Anthropology at Universidad Complutense of Madrid and member of Spanish Association of Forensic Anthrophology and Odonthology (AEAOF), she focuses her research in Bioarchaeology, Funerary Archaeology, Paleopathology and crimes against Humanity digging Spanish Civil War graves since 2017 and supervising human remains laboratories in different projects throughout that time.
In addition, her biological profiles remitted to the regional government of Andalusia have been refuted by DNA results in 100% of the cases studied in the mass graves, so she has contributed to identified victims of Spanish genocide that had been delivered to families and buried properly. She is a team member of the bioarchaeological site of Al qusais cemetery in Dubai (UAE).
